The Beaudesert Race Club
This historic racecourse dates back to 1879 and offers an authentic Queensland country racing experience. For
National parks
If you’d prefer to explore the wild beauty of the Scenic Rim, you’re in the vicinity of six national parks, including the World Heritage listed Mount Barney National Park. This area is great for hiking, picnics and birdwatching and is home to a variety of rare flora and fauna.
Wyaralong Dam
Just a 10-minute drive from Killara Homestead is the picturesque Wyaralong Dam. Surrounded by more than 40km of trails that are great for hiking and bike riding, Wyaralong Dam is also a popular spot for fishing and a variety of water sports. For kids there’s a playground and viewing platform. (A SIPS permit is required to fish.)
Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy
A fun family day out is just a 10-minute drive away at the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy. In 2012 the Dennis family opened their dairy to visitors and now run regular tours to share their family’s rich dairy farming history. Tours run throughout the week and on weekends, by appointment.
Scenic Rim Eat Local Week (29 June – 7 July 2019)
Every year the Scenic Rim community celebrates food, wine, farmers and the beauty of the area through a food festival that has something for all ages. Taste food from some of Australia’s most renowned chefs, take a farm tour or enrol in a cooking class. It’s the ultimate foodie adventure!
